Mr Colin McKenzie
Position: Chief Executive
Having worked in the business since 1951 covering all aspects of refrigeration including; service, installations and maintenance and helping to build the company we have to-day. He has been responsible for obtaining work in Egypt, France, Kazakhstan, Chad, to name but a few. Mr McKenzie became a director in 1971 and continues to be involved with the business to this day – aged 80. He is here on a daily basis discussing jobs with engineers, and making sure that we never forget “The Customer Is King”.
Mrs Kate McKenzie
Position: Chief Financial Officer
Having joined the co. part time in 1956 to help out with ‘The Paperwork’ while the children were at school. She worked in the evening while her husband was out looking for work or repairing refrigeration, she was paid £5 per month. She later joined the company full time and took on more responsibility dealing direct with the customers and engineers, sales and purchase ledgers, costing, wages, etc. She then took over the running of the complete office and today is still involved in the day to day running of the business.
Foster McKenzie
Position: Service Director
One of the 2nd generation of McKenzie’s to be a director of the business Foster has the task of managing the service and maintenance business. With 35 years experience in the business in total, having served a 5 years apprenticeship working across all aspects of commercial refrigeration, he then spent 10 years in a sales capacity before moving on to his current role of Service Director.
Position: Sales Director
The youngest of the McKenzie brothers to work in the business, Shane has been working at ACE for 25 years, having initially done a 4 year refrigeration engineering apprenticeship with the company he has spent the last 21 years working in a sales capacity. As Sales Director he is responsible for bringing in new business primarily for the installations and large project side of the business along with service and maintenance contracts.
Kevin McKenzie
Position: Technical Director
The oldest of the brothers Kevin has worked with the company for 35 years, he initially did a 6 year apprenticeship and a City & Guilds in Refrigeration. He has also worked 3 years in the USA and South Africa still within the refrigeration industry. He takes on the roll of technical director and gets heavily involved in the project management of larger projects.
Senior Sales Executive
Stephen Maguire Joined the Company in 2003 and has over 20 years experience in the transport and commercial refrigeration industry both in sales and operational positions. Formerly the UK General Manager for Marshall Motor Group of Cambridge’s refrigerated small truck division, Stephen brought to ACE a wealth of knowledge of the UK food distribution industry and has a sound understanding of the service level requirements of this demanding environment.
Having Joined the Company originally in a business development role in 2003, Stephen also overseen the development of the Company’s Service Division and for 3 years held the position of Service Director before joining the Sales Team in 2008 as part of their successful expansion into other commercial refrigeration fields.
